It all began like a fairy-tale.
Around 1860, Simon and Pallade, two young brothers from a humble family of five children whose father was a mule-driver, decide to leave their home in the village of Corsavy for the Roussillon plain.
The two brothers become travelling salesmen, selling haberdashery and fabric, and wine.
After a long period of travelling around the area, they decide to settle in Thuir where they open a shop.
On 1866 September 14th , Simon and Pallade Violet register their business with Maître Auge, a notary from Thuir. It is the beginning of a great adventure.
They started with only a few kegs, which they replaced a little later on with larger second-hand barrels. Their innate business sense led them to develop their enterprise and to enlarge it by importing wines from Malaga and Tarragona.
